Region residents are invited to join a ranger on Sunday, January 24 at 1:00 pm for a two-hour tour of Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore in one of the park’s new 16-passenger buses. Park officials say it’s a great way to see the winter beauty of the national lakeshore and Lake Michigan without having to do a lot of walking out in the cold. The tour is free, but reservations are required. Call 219-395-1882 to make reservations and get more information. This program meets at the Indiana Dunes Visitor Center. After a brief introduction, participants will board one of the park’s new 16-passenger buses. During the 2-hour tour, the ranger will share facts about the park while passengers enjoy views of Duneland in winter. For more information on this or other programs at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, call 219-395-1882 or check the park’s website at www.nps.gov/indu.
