During its 13th Annual Digital Arts Festivals/Image Makers competition, Boys and Girls Clubs of America named a South Haven member its national winner in the 16-18 age category. According to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Porter County, Vince Benavidez took home top honor for Music Making for his piece “My Life.”
As national winner in the teen division, Benavidez will join teens from across the U.S. who were winners in the five other categories in an expenses-paid summer trip to San Diego, next week. The trip will include an awards gala, career experiences with a panel of company executives and sessions on music in film and more.
Ryan Smiley, president of the local winning club praised the Digital Arts Festival competion, supported by Sony, as a way to “inspire our future photographers, designers, game developers, filmakers and musicians.”
Last year, the Porter County club was home to two national winners in stop motion animation and game design, according to the release.
