No Injuries Reported in Overnight Valparaiso House Fire

In Valparaiso crews responded to a house fire overnight. Valparaiso Fire Department Public Information Officer Robert Schulte told the Region News Team responding units were dispatched to a residential structure fire in the area of Wayne and Jefferson Streets at about 11:40 Wednesday night and found fire coming from the rear of a two-story home that had been converted into apartments. Units were still on scene extinguishing hotspots. The home was a complete loss, Schulte said, and the cause of the fire will be investigated today. There were no injuries reported. Two of the occupants were assisted by Red Cross on scene. The public is asked to avoid the area today as fire vehicles and equipment remain on scene.
