In Hammond, Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating a fire that involved multiple boats at Hammond Marina. Indiana DNR Law Enforcement District 10 reports no injuries have been reported, but that two boats were a total loss as a result of an explosion related to the fire.
Conservation Officer Terri Millefoglie told the Region News Team the fire call came at 3:50am today, and that while the marina is open electricity has been shutdown at the G-dock. She says investigators are trying to determine the cause of the fire, and that crews are working to raise a boat that sank.
Multiple agencies assisted at the scene, including Hammond Police and Fire, the U.S. Coast Guard, Hammond Port Authority, Hammond Marina, and Tow Boat US.
