A hostage situation in Gary Tuesday night turned out to be hoax. The Times reports Gary Police received a call about 10am from a man who stated he killed one person inside the Gary Housing Authority and would kill his two hostages, as well as blow up the building, if police came to the scene. According to the article, police and SWAT arrived and evacuated the building in the 500 block of Broadway, conducted a search and found no evidence of a death or hostage situation.
The incident remains under investigation.
