The Recycling & Waste Reduction District of Porter County is seeking entries for the second annual Re-Think Art Competition and Exhibition, which challenges artists to submit works made from 100 percent recycled materials for both juried and popular awards. “We are pleased to be able to allow group entries this year,” said Therese Davis, competition and exhibition committee member. “The committee believes we’ll get some creative pieces this year, inspiring others to re-think their trash.”
The deadline for the submission of entries is February 29 for committee review. Works will ultimately be displayed at the Northwest Indiana Earth Day Celebration on April 16 for a popular vote. Categories include: young adult, adult, group project youth, group project young adult and group project adult.
“Materials that can be used include anything reclaimed, reused, recovered, second-hand, salvaged, or anything un-new.” said Davis. Details are available on the district’s website, www.ItMeansTheWorld.org, or by calling Therese Davis, 219-465-3815.
