Christmas Bird Count at Indiana Dunes National Park

Region residents are invited to take part in an annual national effort known as the Christmas Bird Count. The Indiana Dunes National Park will be facilitating the 2019 count on Friday, December 27 in the “INDW Birding Circle” which is located in northeast Lake County and and northwest Porter County. Park officials say Audubon and other organizations use the data collected in this longest running wildlife census to assess the health of bird populations and guide conservation action.  To learn more about the event or register for it, contact park ranger Christine Gerlach at 219-395-1885.
