Pilots to the Rescue Saving Animals

A non-profit is going to new heights to help animals in need. “Pilots to the Rescue” founder Michael Schneider says they’re flying all across the country to save animals. The pilots donate their time and their planes, moving animals across the country to find shelters with room to care for the animal to prevent the animals from being euthanized. Their efforts include transporting domestic and endangered animals. More than 12-hundred animals, including endangered sea turtles, wolves, foxes, and more have been saved by the non-profit. Pilots to the Rescue’s latest mission involved flying some 15-hundred miles from New York to Texas to save a group of 26 puppies. Schneider says what goes through his mind is, he’s saving these animals’ lives, “and one thing I realized doing this work is, a lot of times the animals save us.”
