California Wildlife Center Creates Prosthetic Leg for Burrowing Owl

A California wildlife center is making headlines for creating what is believed to be the first ever prosthetic leg for a burrowing owl. Officials with Walnut Creek’s Lindsay Wildlife Experience say the one-legged female owl should be on the mend soon thanks to the new creation. Engineers are still perfecting the prosthetic, but wildlife officials are confident their eight-year-old patient will be strutting on two legs in the coming months.
