Very icy conditions are being seen in the Region after freezing rain and drizzle overnight. The National Weather Service Chicago says temperatures are expected to be near or below freezing until about 10 am CT and warns that untreated roads, sidewalks, and parking lots will remain slick. “Be extra cautious when walking and also when driving on any roads that may not have been treated yet,” the National Weather Service Chicago said on their website early this morning Thursday February 6, 2025. In a Special Weather Statement the National Weather Service Chicago said, “Be prepared for slippery roads, and watch out for icy stairs, sidewalks, and driveways that could increase your risk of a fall and injury.” Winter Weather Advisories were in effect for counties across northern Indiana.
