Local fire officials say it’s important to not put off cleaning your kitchen oven and appliances after big meals, like ones that may have been prepared over the recent holiday season. Liberty Township Volunteer Fire Department in Porter County says to clean your oven once a month to prevent grime from building up, always wipe down your cooled oven, especially after spills, and read the manufacturers manual for tips on how to clean the appliance.
