In Chesterton, the Duneland Family YMCA says the construction planning phase for the Healthy Living Campus is underway and on schedule. A news release also said the capital campaign has seen 100 percent of the Duneland Y Board of Directors pledge over half-a-million dollars and counting. Monday’s update comes about a month after the Duneland Family YMCA announced a contribution from the Dunbar Family Foundation that will enable the construction of an outdoor pavilion at the Healthy Living Campus.
Of their collective donation, a record size for Porter County non-profit organizations the news release said, Board President Jim Trout said, “I am deeply moved by the remarkable generosity demonstrated by our board of directors. I believe that their visionary contributions will undoubtedly inspire other investors to join us on this meaningful journey, fostering a ripple effect of philanthropy that will enhance our ability to create lasting, positive change in the lives of those we serve.”
