The Smashing Pumpkins are holding open auditions online for a new guitarist.
Last fall, guitarist Jeff Schroeder left the band and now the application process is open to anyone who might be interested.
They seem to be having some fun with it online as well. They’ve had everything from joke entries, to extremely talented and qualified musicians… Such as an application from Mike Garson who played with David Bowie and Nine Inch Nails.
Along with their new guitarist, The Smashing Pumpkins will be back on the road in June to co-headline a UK and Ireland tour with Weezer. And they’ll join Green Day‘s tour beginning in July.
