Valparaiso Mayor Delivers 2025 State of the City Address

In Valparaiso, Mayor Jon Costas delivered his State of the City address at the Valpo Chamber’s annual luncheon Wednesday January 15, 2025. He unveiled plans to upgrade up to ten city parks, which will include the addition of “four new pickleball courts at ValPLAYso, replacing the dated courts at Kirchhoff. There will also be 3 new shelters and new bathrooms at Kirchhoff, the park that started it all.” Mayor Costas also said in early 2025, the city looks forward to acquiring the former McGill Factory “located in the very heart” of Valpo on Lafayette Street to be transformed into a multi-generational community center, and he also announced a new city-wide Community Conference coming up in April.
