Zach Bryan fittingly released his highly anticipated new album, The Great American Bar Scene, on the 4th of July. There are plenty of fireworks found on Bryan’s album as well as in the skies across the country during the nation’s holiday. In addition to the genre-crossing Top 10 hit lead single, “Pink Skies,” the album also features guest appearances from big name musicians like Bruce Springsteen, John Mayer, John Moreland, and Noeline Hofmann.
In the title track of The Great American Bar Scene, Bryan references Springsteen’s haunting Nebraska track, “State Trooper,” and later in the album he duets with The Boss on “Sandpaper,” a song that the duo performed together at Bryan’s show in Brooklyn in March. “Better Days” features some guitar work from Mayer, while Moreland guests on “Memphis: The Blues.” Bryan’s collaboration with Canadian country singer Hofmann on her moving ballad, “Purple Gas,” was shared back in June, and receives its official release on Zach’s new album.
