Heart have had to put all their tour dates on hold throughout 2024 as singer Ann Wilson undergoes cancer treatment. In an Instagram post on Tuesday, Wilson reveals that, “I recently underwent an operation to remove something that, as it turns out, was cancerous.” Back in May, Heart postponed their European tour so that Wilson could have surgery. After her cancer diagnosis, the band has canceled all remaining shows in 2024, including their upcoming dates supporting Journey and Def Leppard. Wilson shared that the surgery went well and she’s starting chemotherapy.
“The operation was successful & I’m feeling great but my doctors are now advising me to undergo a course of preventive chemotherapy & I’ve decided to do it. And so my doctors are instructing me to take the rest of the year away from the stage in order to fully recover. Please know that I absolutely plan to be back on stage in 2025. Thank you all for the support. This is merely a pause. I’ve much more to sing.” (Billboard)
