Coming out Friday, November 3rd is “Can't Find the Breaks,” the second full-length album and third release overall by California rockers Dirty Honey. The quartet recorded the following up 2021's self-titled effort in Australia with Nick DiDia, who's been producing the band since its first hits (“When I'm Gone,” “Rolling 7's”) in 2019. The 11-track set “widens our lane” according to guitarist John Notto, who tells us there was a mission this time to expand on what Dirty Honey had done to date and explore a more diversified sound like heroes such as Led zeppelin, Queen, Guns N' Roses and Aerosmith:
“Knowing my brothers in creativity, I know that they have more tastes in them than just purely one style, so it felt right to experiment and see what comes out and then sift through and try to make it sound like still us. I think we did a great job.” :23 OC: do a great job
“Can't Find the Breaks” certainly fits the hard, riff-rocking mold of Dirty Honey's earlier releases but experiments with different flavors and textures, particularly on mellower tracks such as “Coming Home (Ballad of the Shire)” and “You Make It All Right.”
It's also Dirty Honey's first album with drummer Jaydon Bean, who replaced Corey Coverstone earlier this year.
The first single from the album, “Don't Take Me Alive,” hit No. 12 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.
Dirty Honey recently started a North American headlining tour that will run through mid-December. The group is planning to play overseas as well as on these shores during 2024.
