November is National Family Caregivers Month and the Alzheimer’s Association says nearly half of all caregivers who provide help to older adults do so for someone with Alzheimer’s or another dementia. “Caregiver support groups offer a safe place for dementia caregivers to develop a support system, exchange information and ideas, and simply share their feelings, and that is really so important, at every stage of the disease,” said Laura Forbes, Communications Director for the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater Indiana Chapter. The Alzheimer’s Association offers caregiver support groups in Dyer, Gary, Michigan City, and Valparaiso. Here is a link for more information.
