Fire at Valparaiso University Campus Building

Crews were on the scene this evening fighting a fire on the campus of Valparaiso University. A post at the university’s Facebook page said the fire broke out in the Art-Psychology Building. “We have no other details to provide at this time except that we are working closely with local fire departments as they work to extinguish the fire. As always, the safety of our students, faculty, and staff is our top priority. We would also like to express our gratitude to the Valparaiso Fire Department and Valparaiso Police Department. Please monitor your campus email for updates,” the campus alert said. There were reportedly no injuries. Smoke could be seen for miles away, and smoke had created hazy conditions around the downtown Valparaiso area. Multiple agencies assisted.
