In Valparaiso, a well-known campus building has been added to the National Register of Historic Places. Valparaiso’s University’s Chapel of the Resurrection was recently included on the official list of what is described as the nation’s historic places worthy of preservation. The chapel standing nearly 100-feet high is located on the highest point of ground on VU’s campus, easily visible from US 30. The university’s website also says the chapel, originally called Memorial Chapel, was dedicated in 1959 three years after groundbreaking and renamed the Chapel of the Resurrection a decade later.
