Online reports this morning say a murder suspect surrendered peacefully to police, after allegedly holding four people hostage in Gary for four hours last night. Lake County Sheriff John Buncich tells nwi-dot-com that Hammond and Lake County police had learned 18-year-old Marcus Flanagan was at a home near 24th Avenue and Fairbanks Street, and that when officers arrived, a hostage situation began. Officials say the suspect, who was wanted in connection with a shooting death in Hammond last month, turned himself in shortly after 10:30, and there were no reports of injuries to police or anyone else. Lake County's SWAT Team and Gary Police also responded.
