The Region Remembers Pearl Harbor

pearl Today is Pearl Harbor Day. At 7:55 a.m. on December 7, 1941, nearly 200 Japanese aircraft attacked Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. The raid, which lasted little more than one hour, left nearly 3,000 dead. Nearly the entire U.S. Pacific Fleet was at anchor there and few ships escaped damage.

Sons and Daughters of Pearl Harbor Survivors will conduct the annual Pearl Harbor Day Memorial Service in Highland this morning. The service begins at 10:55am at the Highland Main Square Gazebo.
