Indiana Toll Road Drug Bust

A 36 year old Oregon man was arrested on charges of dealing and possessing marijuana, after authorities seized approximately 90-pounds from a U-Haul truck traveling on the Indiana Toll Road Thursday in Elkhart County, near the Elkhart East exit. Indiana State Police report after stopping the truck for a traffic infraction, around 9:30 that morning, an officer found a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and then the officer's K-9 made a positive alert that the vehicle may contain drugs. Authorities arrested the driver, and while in process of getting a search warrant for the vehicle, troopers say they received a call from a Brian Kraynik, who explained he rented the truck, but was following behind the U-Haul, and that he had put the marijuana in it without the driver's knowledge. Indiana State Police say they found 13 boxes containing a total of 90-pounds of the drug, with an estimated street value of four-to-five thousand dollars per pound.
