Nearly 20,000 workers across the country will be out of work due to Hostess liquidating it's brands—affecting some 850 Indiana workers. The Times is reporting today that production at around a third of the the Irving, Texas-based company's 33 plants has been seriously hampered by a nationwide worker strike, causing three plants to close earlier this week. The article also says local retail outlets in Hammond, Munster, Merrillville, Michigan City and Hobart plan to remain open until remaining inventory is sold off.
