Power Problems Delay South Shore

NICTD is reporting that overhead power disruptions are causing South Shore train delays this morning between Michigan City Carroll Avenue and East Chicago. As of just after 6:30 this morning, NICTD was reporting they are attempting to pull trains 106 and 108 through affected area with diesel engines this morning. South Shore riders should expect significant delays between Michigan City and East Chicago this morning. Train 106 departed Michigan City 45 minutes late. NICTD plans to turn eastbound trains 203 and 205 at East Chicago for return service to Chicago. At this time NICTD reports they have no clear status on the balance of the Wednesday morning rush hour at this time.
