C.P. Man Receives Eight Years

A Crown Point man is sentenced to a little eight years in prison for the fatal stabbing of a man on the city's courthouse square Thanksgiving day of last year. The Times online today is reporting that 23-year-old Jeffrey Nemcek, who was acquitted of murder and voluntary manslaughter, was found guilty of reckless homicide in the death of 26-year-old Brandon Huseman also of Crown Point.Lake Criminal Court Judge Thomas Stefaniak Jr. during a 20-minute ruling, described the killing as a sad, unfortunate situation for all involved, according to the article.
