Borman Entrance Ramp Shooting

Indiana State Police continue to investigate a shooting reportedly occurring on the south bound Grant Street entrance ramp to the east bound Borman (80/94) Thursday morning. Preliminary reports say shortly after 10:30 a.m. a vehicle pulled alongside a 1995 Ford Escort, being driven by a 44-year-old Gary man, on the ramp fired a weapon then fled the scene. Police say the driver was taken to a hospital in Gary with life threatening injuries. Evidence at the scene was collected and detectives are seeking a person of interest. Anyone who may have witnessed or has information about the shooting are urged to call Detective Brian Kubiak at 219-696-6242.
