It was a big win for the Cubs today. ABC News reports the Chicago City Council approved a massive overhaul of Wrigley Field. The 500 million dollar plan is privately financed, but neighbors in the Wrigleyville neighborhood have been fighting proposal, which includes a jumbotron, news signs, and a hotel across from the 99 year old ballpark. The Cubs did alter some of the plans before the city council's vote, which was applauded by Mayor Emanuel, who stated, "May this also bring forward, as others have noted, the team we would all like to see happen on the North side." The renovations will take five years to complete.
