In Merrillville, published reports say a Pierce Middle School student was expelled after bringing a gun to school last week. According to the Superintendent, there was a feud between the student and another child, and that the weapon appears to have been meant to “impress” to some extent, with no intent to use it. Officials say there were no threats made.
