A 48 year old Hazel Crest, Illinois, man was recently sentenced to 45-years in prison for the attempted murder of an elderly man, according to an announcement made today by the Lake County Prosecutor's Office. David Harman was convicted earlier this year by a Lake County Court jury for a knife attack on J.R. Jenkins in May of 2011, in Hammond. The Prosecutor's Office reports Jenkins was hospitalized for nearly two-months after being punched, kicked, and his throat slashed during Harman's attack in the 76-hundred block of Oakdale.
