The Lowell Public Library is hosting Staley Da Bear, official mascot of the Chicago Bears on Monday, January 21, at 1 PM.
Staley Da Bear will be at the library to jump start kids’ desire to pick up a book, with comedy and fun during his 45-minute high-energy show, while introducing “Tackle Reading”.
Staley's "Tackle Reading" program, which targets students in 1st through 5th grades, is designed to foster young students' interest in reading both fiction and non-fiction books. The program is divided into four quarters and one "overtime" week. Students are encouraged to read one book per quarter, including two fiction books during the first half and two non-fiction books during the second half. Those who complete the "overtime" portion (by either writing a book report or short story on one of the four books read during "regulation") will be entered for a chance to win one of 100 grand prizes, a mini-camp conducted by Chicago Bears players!
Bears fans of all ages are welcome to attend this FREE event! No pre-registration is required.
