11:45am -- US 30 has reopened just west of Valparaiso, but motorists are advised to keep using caution as Comcast bucket trucks are in the area and NIPSCO crews remain on scene for repairs. Union Fire Rescue Assistant Chief Tim Beach says a car struck a utility pole on the north side of US 30, near Joliet Road, around 10-o'clock this morning, knocking the pole completely down, and sending power lines across the highway. Beach says there were two people in the car; no injuries, both refused treatment from EMS.
