Lutheran Church Charities says some northwest Indiana residents have traveled to Connecticut, as part of a team of Lutheran Church Charities K-9 Comfort Dogs and staff, to help residents after the tragedy Friday at Sandy Hook Elementary School. The Lutheran Church Charities website says Pastor Tim Engel and Dan and Karen Fulkerson with K-9 Comfort Dogs, Golden Retrievers Barney and Prince from Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Portage are among those joining their staff team in Newtown.
