An autospy this afternoon has positively identified the body found yesterday in southern Lake County as that of the missing Calumet City woman, 42-year old Gena Chiodo. Merilee Frey, Lake County Coroner says the autopsy performed at the Lake County Coroner's Forensic Science Center discovered many external and internal traumatic injuries due to assault, including multiple stab wounds and blunt force injuries. Due to the outcome of the autopsy, Frey says she is ruling the death investigation a homicide. The body was located yesterday east of US-41 and South of State Road Two in Lowell. No identification was found near or on the body, which the Coroner says was in an advanced state of decomposition. Frey was able to identify the body through dental records. Police say Chiodo, who worked at a hair salon in Munster, was reported missing in October, and 42-year-old Donol Clark has been charged with murder and concealment of a homicide in connection with Chiodo's disappearance.
