The Lieutenant Governor, the Mayor of Valparaiso, and executives from Paul Wurth, a global iron and steel engineering manufacturer, announced yesterday the company's plan to expand its operations at their Valparaiso facility. Lieutenant Governor Becky Skillman says up to 400-thousand dollars in conditional tax credits has been offered to the company by the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, based on their job creation plans. Valparaiso's Mayor, Jon Costas, says the City and region has a great work force, and offers a climate that is sustainable and cost effective for businesses.
Wurth, which currently employs 14 full-time employees in Valparaiso, specializes in the sale of new spare parts and reconditioning used parts for blast furnaces. Wurth has invested 3.6 million dollars into their 55,000 square-foot facility, which opened this past May.
