Starting Friday: Hometown Festival Days in Crown Point

A sure sign summer is coming back to Northwest Indiana, is the smell of roasting sweet corn wafting through the air signaling the start of Hometown Festival Days  in downtown Crown Point.   According to the Crossroads Chamber of Commerce, this year, region residents and visitors alike will be greeted by an old-fashioned street celebration down Main St. that features over 30 food vendors, a beer garden and live music both this Friday and Saturday, with the Corn Roast kicking off the event 4pm Friday!
The Schedule of festival events as supplied by the Crossroads Regional Chamber of Commerce:
Friday, June 13, 2014 starts at 4:00p.m. - 11:00p.m., and Saturday, June, 14, 2014 from 11:00a.m. - 11:00p.m. You can experience an old-fashioned street celebration down Main Street, more than 30 food vendors, a beer garden and live music. Friday at 7:30p.m., Nawty will entertain on the Main Stage. Then on Saturday night at 7:30p.m., Hessville Star keeps the beat on the Main Stage. Monday, June1 6, 2014 at 11:00a.m., is the Dollie Parade!  Children are invited to bring their best dressed dolls, stuffed animals and carriages down to the Crown Point Square and parade around the sidewalk.  This event is free of charge and children receive ribbons, candy and balloons.
Friday  & Saturday,  June 20 & 21~ 11:00a.m. - 11:00p.m.,  is the Fabulous Food & Arts Festival (formerly The Taste of Crown Point) Over 50 Arts and Crafters will take over around the Old Crown Point Courthouse.  Over 30 Restaurants will serve up their specialties on the surrounding streets.  A few restaurants that will be there are: Asparagus, Abuelo’s, Bubba Q Bar-B-Que, Carriage Court Pizza, Cooper’s Hawk Crown Town Grill, Jill’s Sweets & Treats, Lucrezia Ristorante, Muchos Tacos & More, Prime Steakhouse, Safe House, Season’s Restaurant, Sweet N Savory Delights, The Steak Station and many more to delight your taste buds.
