Taltree Arboretum to Celebrate Earth Day & Arbor Day

In celebration of National Earth Day, visitors can enjoy free admissionTuesday, April 22, 2014 at Taltree (tall-tree) Arboretum and Gardens in Valparaiso--and the nature observances continue this weekend .  According to a Taltree press release,  on Arbor Day, Friday, April 25, 2014, the arboretum will be give away bur oak tree saplings to the first 24 visitors.  Then on Saturday, April 26, 2014, Taltree will host a spring cleaning.  Visitors will be invited to help with gardening, brush removal, raking leaves and other duties.  The event is family-friendly, free and will be held from 10 a.m. to noon. Taltree Arboretum & Gardens is a 360-acre, dog-friendly oak preserve of formal gardens, woodlands, wetlands and prairies that offers a variety of cultural events, classes and exhibits. Taltree is open year-round. All proceeds and donations Taltree receives powers its environmental restoration, conservation and education initiatives.
