Planners Get Update on Cline Avenue Bridge

Construction is expected to begin this year on a new Cline Avenue bridge in East Chicago. The new structure will be a toll bridge, replacing the former Cline Avenue extension that was closed in December 2009 over safety concerns. The expected toll for cars is between two-dollars-25-cents and $3.25, according to a report in the Times today. Region planners with Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning Commission (NIRPC) got an update on the project Tuesday.
