Traffic hazards abound Thursday afternoon as INDOT crews reportedly have closed two right eastbound lanes of I-94 between State Rd. and State Rd. 149.
A number of traffic tipsters to the Region News Team Traffic Hotline are reporting potholes on Cline Ave. by the mills is causing bumper to bumper traffic with a few cars are reportedly on the side of the road with tire and rim problems. Heavy delays and back-ups are reported on Cline Ave. near Michigan Street. Also, the southbound Chicago Ave. on ramp to Cline Ave. is reportedly closed due to potholes.
We have also received reports of expansion joints across both directions of US-30 near Myers Castle in Dyer have opened up some six to eight inches causing traffic to virtually stop in both directions.
Low visibilities are contributing to hazardous driving conditions as wide spread and locally dense fog is all across the Region. Most visibilities being reported in fractions of a mile. Be sure to have your full headlights on so other motorists can see you.
A wind ban is now in effect until 5p.m. EST/4p.m. CST Friday (2/21) along the entire length of the Indiana Toll Road. According to ITR Concession, the ban is in effect for all triple tractor-trailers, long doubles and high profile oversize limits.
