Portage Mayor James Snyder has been making the rounds today delivering his “State of the City” address. Mayor Snyder spoke earlier today to Portage High School government classes and around noon at the Portage Chamber Luncheon at Woodland Park. The Mayor claimed 2013 as the “Year of Communication” and laid out 2014 as the Year of Construction and Customer Service.” Highlights of the address included parks projects, a drop in crime, seven-million dollars in road repairs and going from a budget deficit to a budget surplus.
Mayor Snyder will give the “State of the City” address a third time this evening at the Portage High School West Auditorium, at 7pm, and the public is invited to attend.
