Active Warrant Sweep Nets 36 in Custody

The first warrant sweep of 2014 took place today in Michigan City, and throughout LaPorte County, which resulted in 36 individuals being taken into custody on outstanding warrants, most of which were drug related. Michigan City Police report “Operation Heartbreak” was organized with the assistance of the newly formed Fugitive Apprehension Street Team, which is going to be tasked with locating, investigating and serving active warrants throughout the community.
Chief Mark Swistek says he is pleased with the results of the warrant sweep and encourages anyone with information into criminal activity, or the location of wanted fugitives, to contact their tip hotline (219) 873-1488 or to message them on Facebook or Twitter and you can remain anonymous.
