No Fireworks This 4th of July in Michigan City

In Michigan City, there won't be a fireworks display for the Fourth of July this year. Money's tight and the community is dealing with a budget shortfall from delays in receiving property tax revenues. Mayor Ron Meer tells today's Times the cost of fireworks, security and clean up adds up to fifty-thousand dollars, money that could be spent in other ways.
